Youth Services

LWDA 4 Youth Program

The LWDA 4 Youth program affirms the Department of Labor's exploration and guidance, continued support for educational attainment, opportunities for skills training, such as pre-apprenticeships or internships, for in-demand industries and occupations, and culminating with employment, enrollment in postsecondary education, or a Registered Apprenticeship.

The purpose of the program is to assist youth ages 14 - 24 years of age, who are facing significant barriers to success in the workforce by providing resources and support to overcome those barriers and to transition successfully to self-sufficiency.  Youth services are provided to in-school or out-of-school youth.

WIOA delivers an array of youth services that prepare youth for post-secondary education and employment opportunities, attainment of educational and/or skills training credentials and obtainment of employment.  WIOA staff assess the participant's skills, interest, needs and personal goals and creates a customized plan with the participant to assist them meeting their goals.
